If your home loses power, severe weather disrupts service, or your internet provider goes offline, activating your Nomad Regional FailSafe VPS provides secure temporary access through a cloud VPS in your selected region. Simply select your assigned FailSafe exit node in the Tailscale app whenever your primary Nomad Home IP connection is unavailable.

FailSafe is designed for short-term emergency connectivity rather than continuous everyday use. It provides an affordable backup solution that helps maintain essential regional access while your home service is restored, without the cost of maintaining a dedicated standby VPS.

Each FailSafe VPS supports a controlled maximum of six Nomad Home IP customers within the same region. This shared backup model keeps regional redundancy affordable while reserving our lower-density and dedicated VPS tiers for customers who require full-time regional connectivity.

Your VPS depends on real-time data center capacity. While most orders are provisioned automatically within minutes, some regions may occasionally be temporarily unavailable due to provider capacity. If your selected region cannot be provisioned, we'll contact you promptly to arrange the nearest available alternative or another available region of your choice at no additional cost.
